Future construction bachelors on site visit

About 60 future bachelors, on the one hand from Vives University of Applied Sciences in Ostend and on the other hand from Odisee in Aalst, visited the site of the Sint-Henricus residential care center on Friday 3 March. Our colleagues Jens, project leader and Bert, site manager provided text and explanation for the restoration and new construction of the residential care center.

Special attention was paid to the extra floor on top of an existing building. Jos Van De Wielle, head of department at Odisee Aalst, was particularly pleased with Verstraete.team's offer to visit the site on site. In the Bachelor's program in Construction, technology and engineering are combined with creativity. Green energy and sustainable (re)building are central. Jobs in the construction sector have been in the top ten shortage occupations for years, including at bachelor's level.
