Maypole placed at Residence Pietershof
On Thursday, February 10, at exactly 1 pm, the maypole was placed on the top floor of Residentie Pietershof. The Pietershof Residence is the only terraced living space within the ramparts of Ypres. A unique opportunity to admire all possible views of the city from its terraces.
The setting of May is an age-old tradition that means prosperity for the construction workers and the future occupants of the building. It also symbolizes that the constructions may be as stable, large and strong as a tree.
Exceptional new construction
Residence 't Pietershof, with 70 apartments spread over one building with three floors in the Wenninckstraat and the other building in the Burggraafstraat, with five floors, has thus reached the milestone of the roof floor.
The 'Kliniek van de Zwarte Zusters' became largely empty in 2008 when the activities were transferred to the Jan Yperman Hospital. “It had been clear for some time that the site would be given a new destination.”
